Origins of Reflexology

The origins of Reflexology can be traced back many thousands of years and there are many civilizations and cultures such as the ancient Chinese and Egyptians that have used this form of healing.

Reflexology is a therapy that treats the feet in order to balance the whole body.  By applying pressure to the reflex areas on the feet, the corresponding and connected areas of the body will be affected.  The feet mirror the anatomy of the body therefore many of the bodily systems, glands, organs etc can be accessed by stimulating the corresponding area on the feet.

Reflexology is a fantastic therapy for treating stress as it can induce a state of deep relaxation.  It has also been known to improve circulation and neural efficiency, help with the elimination of waste from the body and activate the body’s own self-healing mechanisms.  It is a safe, non-invasive treatment and people of all ages can benefit from Reflexology.
